Ultrahuman Ring Pro fixes charging fatigue, not smart-ring accuracy
Independent tests put the Ring Pro near 10 to 11 days per charge, but its $479 hardware upgrade still produces uneven workout heart-rate data and familiar health insights.

The most convincing health feature on Ultrahuman's $479 Ring Pro is the one that keeps its sensors on your finger. Two independent testers managed roughly 10 or 11 days between charges, short of the advertised 15 days but long enough to stop battery anxiety from puncturing a week of sleep and recovery data.
That is a substantial repair to the smart-ring experience. It is not the same as a breakthrough in what the ring knows about its wearer. After a month of use, Chase the Summit found the app and its health metrics nearly identical to the cheaper Ring Air. A newer review from Woman & Home found sleep duration could be wrong by several hours during the two-week calibration period. The Pro is much better at staying alive than proving every number deserves trust.
Ten days is the useful number
Ultrahuman advertises up to 15 days in Chill mode, about 12 days in the higher-sampling Turbo mode, and up to 45 days away from an outlet when the charging case is counted. The ring stores as much as 250 days of data, a huge jump from the Air's four days, so travel without a daily phone sync is now plausible.
Real use trims the headline but leaves a strong result. Chase the Summit's Dave Dillon saw eight to 11 days and called 10 a safe expectation. Starting workouts manually consumed more power, while Chill mode stretched endurance by taking fewer heart-rate samples. Lord of the Smart Rings ran the Pro in Turbo beside an Oura Ring 5 and RingConn Gen 3 of similar age. Ultrahuman lasted 11 days, roughly matching RingConn and finishing two days ahead of Oura in that test.
The case matters because smart-ring charging is unusually easy to neglect. It adds several refills and can locate the ring through the app. Ultrahuman also replaced wireless charging with recessed magnetic contacts. Lord of the Smart Rings said that stopped the occasional charger overheating he had encountered, though only long-term use will show whether cooler charging helps the small battery survive beyond the roughly two-year decline he has observed across rings.
The optical sensor still loses its grip
The redesigned photoplethysmography sensor is supposed to improve signal quality during sleep and recovery. Dillon's exercise comparison showed both the promise and the limitation. During one run, the Ring Pro recorded a maximum heart rate of 149 beats per minute. His Garmin-linked ECG chest strap recorded 150, while Whoop registered 154. Those peaks agree closely.
The averages did not. Ultrahuman reported 132bpm against the chest strap's 135, and its graph contained conspicuous low readings. Dillon suspected movement on the finger caused missed data. His verdict was appropriately narrow: the heart-rate result was usable for an overview, not something he would choose over a watch or chest strap for structured training.
Woman & Home's Grace Walsh reached a similar boundary from the bedroom. Compared with her Oura Ring 5, the Pro initially logged 12 or 13 hours of sleep on nights that were plainly shorter. Ultrahuman asks for two weeks to establish a baseline, and its app can use heart-rate data from a Polar device to help train the system. Step calibration and broader device support were still marked as coming soon in her test. That is not a trivial omission for a device whose hand position can turn typing and gestures into false movement.
No subscription does not mean no paid extras
The Ring Pro has no mandatory monthly fee. Core sleep, recovery, movement, HRV, resting heart rate, temperature trends and stress signals remain available after purchase. That makes its high hardware price easier to compare with an Oura subscription over several years.
There are boundaries around the promise. Ultrahuman's PowerPlugs marketplace mixes free and paid modules, including optional specialist features. Jade, the app's AI question-and-answer tool, gets a limited daily allocation because cloud processing costs money. Lord of the Smart Rings reported roughly five questions per day in his beta build. The subscription has not vanished so much as been unbundled from the basic dashboard.
The physical upgrade is similarly pragmatic. The titanium Pro is 2.65mm thick and weighs 3.3 to 4.8 grams depending on size, versus 2.4mm and 2.4 grams for the Air. Dillon stopped noticing the slight increase after a day. Lord of the Smart Rings found the added bulk harder to justify, especially without haptics or another interaction that feels distinctly Pro. Both points can be true because ring fit is personal in a way watch fit rarely is.
Buy the gap between charges
The Ring Pro earns its name when it is treated as a continuity upgrade. Longer battery life, a travel case, cooler contact charging and deep offline storage make it less likely that a forgotten charge or disconnected phone will erase the context around a bad night.
Buy it for those conveniences and the absence of a compulsory fee. Do not buy it expecting a finger sensor to replace a chest strap, or expecting the larger titanium shell to generate a new class of medical insight. The Pro's best achievement is collecting familiar data for longer. Its hardest problem remains deciding how much of that data to believe.
